CeeLite™ is the world’s first commercial manufacturer of Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) technology that is destined to redefine the way lighting is used today. CeeLite’s advanced LEC technology turns any surface into a light source. Ranging in size from cell phones to dry wall, CeeLite LEC technology creates new markets where lighting was previously impossible and replaces traditional lighting; in floors, walls, ceilings and within unconventional objects.
CeeLite’s LEC technology provides flawless surface illumination as the result of major research and development engineering advancements. CeeLite’s LEC technology is comprised of three critical components: OSRAM SYLVANIA’s higher quality light emitting phosphors for brightness combined with CeeLite’s proprietary blending processes for the whitest color; advanced, proprietary, programmable Flatline Inverters to control levels of brightness and ambience; and advanced “packaging materiels” for lower heat generation, phosphor protection and systemization which has created a platform technology. LEC panels are constructed with phosphors, PET/ITO, dielectrics and pigments as a capacitor, and encapsulated in flexible, semi-rigid or rigid materials.
CeeLite’s Flatline Inverters power CeeLite’s LEC technology. These advanced, programmable inverters provide controls delivering uniform surface illumination with higher brightness. They constantly monitor the output of the CeeLite LEC panels and provide the power necessary to maintain the brightness level selected by the user.
CeeLite’s Flatline Inverters feature embedded microprocessors that enable a variety of programming capabilities, such as: motion and/or photo sensors with external sensing jacks and dimming, fading and flashing standard features.
Compared to early stage and standard EL products, CeeLite’s LEC-based commercial quality lighting offers uniform surface illumination, the whitest color, superior brightness, long life and programmable options. CeeLite also is the only LEC manufacturer to fabricate UL approved inverters.
Standard CeeLite LEC panels can be powered to illuminate at 200 cd/m² which is often ideal for most backlit applications. However, users may adjust the brightness of standard CeeLite LEC panels between 50 cd/m2 and 200 cd/m2. CeeLite LEC panels with 300 cd/m2 or higher are available in custom orders.
The color temperature of CeeLite LEC panels range from 6,500 to 7,500 degrees Kelvin, which enables more vibrant graphics for true color tones, images and anything printed on clear, backlit media. New panels with additional color temperatures are under development.
Installation is dependent on the application. CeeLite LEC panels can be easily applied within minutes by using a standard adhesive or any lightweight frame commonly used for window or wall signage. The lightweight, impact-resistant, flat lightbulbs do not require extra installation time or space for installation.
CeeLite LEC panels are available in a variety of standard and custom sizes to fit in a cell phone or as large as 30 sq ft. In fact, CeeLite LEC panels can be die-cut to fit unusual shapes and spaces.
Yes. CeeLite LEC panels can run on batteries with a voltage as low as 2.4 V and as high as 12/24 V (vehicle applications), depending on the panel size and expected usage.
CeeLite LEC panels eventually will be available for a broad range of lighting applications in the home. It is best to contact a CeeLite representative at info@flatlitebulb.com or 970.420.4879 to discuss specific residential applications.
Yes. Any backlit environment is affected by ambient lighting changes. However, users can adjust the brightness of CeeLite LEC panels as needed.
The SYLVANIA phosphors in CeeLite LEC panels are not on any hazardous materials list and can be handled as non-hazardous waste. Per SYLVANIA’s Material Safety Data Sheet, the phosphors have not been identified as a known or suspected carcinogen.
CeeLite encapsulated LEC panels are produced using patented encapsulation technology and copolyester resins from Eastman Chemical Company. CeeLite licenses Eastman Encapsulation Technology™ for production of encapsulated LEC panels. Spectar™ copolyester from Eastman™ provides the desired physical properties, chemical resistance and barrier properties as well as the needed ease of fabrication for CeeLite’s broad application spectrum. Spectar™ copolyester from Eastman™ is recoverable and reusable in numerous applications today. Eastman™ has been awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification for its copolyester resins. This honor recognizes Eastman for manufacturing low emitting products for better indoor environments. Products extruded with Eastman’s copolyester resins are in compliance with the stringent chemical emission guidelines set forth by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI), allowing the consumer to breathe easy when using these materials in an indoor space.
